The Heroine’s Journey
A journey inward. A return to yourself. A becoming.
I believe there are seasons in a woman’s life when the life she has known no longer fits.
Something changes. A relationship ends. A loss opens something deeper. The identity you once inhabited begins to fall away. The ways you learned to be loved, to belong, or to stay safe no longer carry you forward.
These moments can feel like unraveling.
But they can also be an invitation.
This is the territory of The Heroine’s Journey—not a journey toward becoming someone else, but a journey home to who you have always been.
For Women Who Feel Deeply
I work with women who express, love, and experience life deeply.
Women who are sensitive, intuitive, thoughtful, and attuned to the subtlety of the inner and outer world. Women whose strength is real, but who may have learned to over-function, over-give, abandon themselves, or carry more than was ever theirs to carry.
Often, these women don't need to become stronger. They need a place where they no longer have to be.
Therapy becomes a space to slow down enough to hear what is underneath the patterns—to listen to the body, the nervous system, the emotions, the imagination, and the deeper intelligence within.
The body remembers what the mind learned to survive. The nervous system carries stories that words cannot always reach. And something within us knows when we have wandered too far from ourselves.
The heroine's journey is a movement toward reclaiming the feminine, healing the wounds of separation, and integrating the different parts of herself into a more complete sense of being. —Maureen Murdock, The Heroine's Journey: Woman’s Quest for Wholeness
The Journey Home
There comes a point in the journey when we stop asking:
Who do I need to become to be loved?
And begin asking:
What would it mean to come home to myself?
This is where healing becomes more than symptom relief.
It becomes a process of remembering your own voice, trusting your inner authority, reclaiming what has been lost, and allowing your life to become more fully your own.
The Heroine’s Journey is not about becoming perfect, fearless, or endlessly resilient.
It is about becoming whole.
And perhaps, beneath it all, remembering that you were never as lost as you thought you were.
You are never alone when you are home with yourself.
Endings & Beginnings
The Heroine’s Journey often begins at a threshold.
A heartbreak. A divorce. A death. A major life transition. An awakening. A relationship that brings old wounds to the surface. A growing awareness that the life you built no longer feels like your own.
These experiences can unsettle everything we thought we knew. Yet sometimes the breaking open is where a deeper self begins to emerge. Rather than rushing to fix, bypass, or move past what hurts, we make room for what is asking to be felt, understood, grieved, and transformed.
This is not simply about returning to who you were. It is about discovering who you are becoming.
A Depth-Oriented & Relational Approach
My approach is depth-oriented, relational, attachment-based, and somatic, integrating psychotherapy with the wisdom of the body and the deeper layers of the psyche.
Our work may draw from Jungian psychology, attachment theory, Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, mindfulness, parts work, and other approaches depending on what is most supportive for you.
I believe healing happens not only through insight, but through relationship, embodiment, emotional truth, and the experience of being deeply seen.
We work at the pace of your nervous system. We listen for what has been lost, what has been protected, what is ready to change, and what is waiting to come alive.
